Barbara M Sauro Ruggiero, 80, of 20 High Top Circle, Hamden died Aug. 6, 2013 at The Arden House. She was the widow of Salvatore Ruggiero. Barbara was born in New Haven, March 6, 1933, daughter of the late Anthony & Mary Cofrancesco Sauro , was a bookkeeper for several area lawyers and for the last 15 years was a cashier at Hamden High School prior to her retiring 8 years ago. A Hamden resident most of her life, she was a former member of the Hamden I. A. Club and enjoyed her family and trips to the casino. The family would like to thank the staff at Arden House for their loving and devoted care. She is survived by her devoted children, Mrs. Kevin(Dina) Gennette, Salvatore Ruggiero, both of Hamden and Anthony (Roberta) Ruggiero of Enfield,a sister in law, Lee Bosco of West Haven, grandchildren, Anthony (Dorothy), Samantha, Marisa, Salatore (Mena), Jennifer, Kevin and Stephanie and 4 great-grandchiuldren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Friday at 9:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave.,, Hamden, and at St. Ann's Church at 10 o'clock. Interment in All Saints Cemetery. North Haven.
