Armand "Mondo" Polverari, 70, of Wallingford,CT, died March 23, at the Hospital for Special Care, New Britain, after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Mary Borrelli Polverari. Mondo was born in New Haven, June 25, 1944, son of the late Armondo Polverari and Luisa Calcano Longo and was employed at Technical Measurements and the Sop & Shop Warehouse prior to owning and operating Matt's Comics and Nostalgia Shop for 30 years, first in Hamden and then in Wallingford. He enjoyed anything pertaining to Roy Rogers & old westerns and through his research became an expert accredited source of information for many books. He was also a talented artist, often drawing pen and ink portraits for his family. He was an Army Veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Allison Polverari and Matthew(Amie)Polverari. both of Meriden. Siblings, Donna Polverari of FL., Victoria Davis(Frank)of Wlfg., Theresa Polverari of Branford and Anthony(Connie)Longo of SC., grandchildren, Matthew, Carter, and Arden Polverari and several nieces and nephews and his father in law Edward Borrelli of East Haven. Additionally, his longtime repeat customers were like family to him. He was pre-deceased by his step father, Tony Longo, his mother-in-law, Doris Borrelli a grandson, Roger Polverari and sister-in-law, Beverly Faiella. Friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Wlfg., for a Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, at 11 0,clock, followed by interment with military honors in All Saints Cemetery.
