Anthony F. Christina, 97, of Hamden, died Nov. 18, 2013 at Whitney Manor after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Mary J. Amarante Christina. Tony was born in East Haven, Nov. 7, 1916, the son of the late Antonio and Santa Tata Cristino, resided in New Haven, where he was an active member of St. Donato' Church, graduated Commercial High School and began his career at Winchester Repeating Arms, working his way to shop foreman, after 25 years. He subsequently worked at Airlock Inc., in Milford, as a production manager, until his retirement. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, golfing and competed in local swimming, boxing, bowling and skeet shooting events. He is survived by a son, Anthony (Josephine) Christina of Sarasota, FL, daughters, Charlotte (Donald) Hull and Nancy (Vincent) DiLella of Hamden, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, MaryAnn Turner, infant son, Joseph, and siblings, Mary Veitch, Francis Sacramone, John and Liborio Christina and granddaughter, Christine Hull. Friends are invited to go directly to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Friday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock, followed by interment in Centerville Cemetery. There are no calling hours
