Anthony J. Caporossi, 91, of 139 Worth Ave., Hamden, died Sept. 18, 2011 at St. Raphael's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Marion Pantani Caporossi. Anthony was born in New Haven, June 2, 1920, the son of the late Andrew and Pauline Cusanelli Caporossi and was the proprietor of the former Andy's Market on Legion Ave, for many years, later becoming a meat cutter for serveral area grocery stores. He was an Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge. He was active in the Keefe and Miller Senior Centers for more than 25 years, where he enjoyed playing pool almost daily. He is survived by a son, Andrew "Andy" Caporossi of Hamden, a sister, Virginia Trentini of Monroe and was the uncle of Paula Chmielewski of Monroe and Albert Trentini of Stratford. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden. Interment in Centerville cemetery.
