Obituary

Annmarie Cacace, age 91, formerly of Hamden passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026 at The Summit at Plantsville, surrounded by the love of her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Cacace Jr., and her cherished son, James Cacace III. Annmarie was a devoted and loving mother to Bernadette Niedermeier, Vincia Caruso (David) and her late son James (Sheri). She was a proud and caring grandmother to Jamie Cacace, Alyssa Ryan (Eddie), Matthew Niedermeier, Steven Niedermeier (Erin), Brittany Valentino (Anthony) and Catrina Caruso (Bryant). Her legacy continues through her treasured great-grandchildren: Kayden, Ava, Alivia, Amelia, Dylan, Mason, Gianna, Brayden and Lucia, who brought her immense joy. Annmarie was a long-time employee of Metro-North Railroad, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family. She found her greatest happiness in time spent together, especially hosting beloved Sunday dinners. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the light of her life. A woman of deep faith, Annmarie held a strong love of God close to her heart throughout her life. She was known for her kindness, generosity and compassion; always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends in need. The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the staff of The Summit at Plantsville and Vitas Healthcare for their compassionate thoughtfulness in her final months. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Hamden, on Saturday, May 23 at 10:00AM.  Annmarie will be remembered for her unwavering love, her selfless spirit and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her. Her memory will live in the hearts of her family forever.
