Annette Lucarelli of North Haven entered into the kingdom of God on August 5th. She was born on April 4, 1941 to the late Joseph & Mary Rizzo Cataldo. Annette started her career in the insurance industry while a senior at Hillhouse High school working part time for Allstate Insurance Co. as a telephone operator and working her way into the claim dept. where she received most of her training. She left there to become a supervisor at Hanover Insurance Co. furthering her education while working and attending Quinnipiac College at night. She graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration in 1964. She then left to work for the Burton Co. and while there obtained her degree as a Property & Casualty Claim Adjuster where she enjoyed working for most of her career. After the Burton Co. sold their business, she went to work for the Bishop Co. where she retired ending her 47yr. career in the insurance business. She loved her job always going that extra step to put herself in other people's positions whether it be a serious water damage loss, a fire loss, or just a simple auto claim. She would always comfort people in their time of a loss. She enjoyed caring for and helping other people. Annette was a member of the National Women's Insurance Association for many years serving the insurance industry. After 2 years of retirement she took on home care jobs and loving for the elderly in need. Annette was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for 48 years where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for 17 years retiring in 2011. She also visited Whitney Manor & Hamden Health Care to give Holy Communion to those who could not attend church. She was strong and selfless and lived a life that was full, and she did it her way. Annette leaves behind a daughter Gina (Charles) Wilber, her two loving and adored grandsons Luke Marc Fongemie and Evan Joseph Fongemie who filled her life with so much joy and much happiness and their loving father Marc (Nancy) Fongemie. Annette also leaves behind her dear sister Rosemary (Aniello) Longobardi whom she treasured along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, many beloved cousins especially Michele (Ralph) Sanzari who cared for her for many years including her last days. In addition she was a longtime companion of the late Peter Cafano and two lifelong friends each for over 72 years, Connie Nappi and Barbara (Iannotti) Ives. Calling hours will be held MONDAY from 8:15 - 10:15 in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell ave., Hamden. Mass will follow at 11am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital www.stjudes.org or Ct Hospice www.hospice.com
