Ann "Nina" Caputo Tito, 92, of 835 Mix Ave., Hamden, died Aug. 27, 2010 at the Arden House. She was the widow of William J. Tito, Sr. Nina was born in Naples, Italy, Sept. 24, 1917, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Ofelia LoParco Caputo. She loved her family dearly and was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt & friend. Throughout her life, she was a avid sports fan and her passion for the Boston Red Sox and UConn Women's Basketball was a source of much joy. Highlights for Nina included a trip with her granddaughter Kim to the Final Four in Philadelphia and celebrating when the Red Sox finnaly won the world series in 2004. Family was extremly important to Nina and some of her most treasured memories came from twice yearly family reunion trips tp Las Vegas. She was able to visit with her loved ones and play Wheel of Furtune..it didn't get much better than that. In her later years she still remained active and vibrant. She looked forward to frequent visits tot Mohegan Sun and often joked that " all her aches and pains went away " when she was there. Her 90th birthday party was a joyous celebration and made her see how beloved she was by all those who knew her. Remembering Nina would not be complete without mentioning her dear friend of more than 70 years, Helen Letis. She was like a sister to her and they shared many adventures over the years. Their enduring friendship was extremely special to Nina and brought her much comfort in her final days. The Tito Family would also like to give special thanks to the entire staff of 2AB at Arden House for thier loving compassionate care.She is survived by sons, William (Barbara) Tito, Jr. of Hamden and Robert (Donna) Tito of Charlestown, MA. and grandchildren, Kimberli, William III, Robert Jr., Jillian and Rory Tito. She was pre-deceased by sisters, Edith Conte and Lily Ferriola and a brother James Caputo. Funeral Monday at 10:15 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at the Church of the Ascension Church at 11 o'clock for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. Hamden.
