Angelo A. Prece, 93, of Hamden, died Feb. 17. 2018, at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his loving family. He was married to the love of his life, for 67 years, Julia Yotch Prece. Angelo was born in Naples, Italy, Feb. 18. 1924, the son of the late Frank and Anna Prece and was a tool maker for Winchester Repeating Arms Co. for 35 years, prior to retiring. An Navy Veteran of WWII, he was manning a LST during the Normandy Invasion and received a Purple Heart for wounds that he received. He always enjoyed a good parade, especially the fife and drum corps, and interacting with the people. Beside his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Linda (Valentino) Caruso and Kathleen Prece, both of Hamden, sisters, Frances Lucibello of East Haven, Grace Mulone of Guilford, and Elizabeth Hoban, of Branford, grandchildren, Valentino (Sara ) Caruso and Dawn Caruso and a great grandchild, Maxton Caruso. He was pre-deceased by brothers, Claudio and John Prece. Funeral Friday at 10:45 from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, and at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:30. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:45 to 10:45 AM. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. Hamden.
