Angelo DeLeo, 94 of Woodbridge, formerly of New Haven died November 25th peacefully at home. He was the loving husband of the late Jennie Lamartra DeLeo. Angelo was born in Avellino, Italy, son of the late John & Rosa Panella DeLeo. He worked for many years as a Tool Maker at the former Geometric Tool & Die Co. Angelo was an avid gardener. He owned a small farm where he enjoyed spending his time farming and growing different types of vegetables and flowers. He was a member of the National Guard, where he served for sixteen years. Angelo was a man of many talents. He was a watchmaker, and many residents of his community often came to him to get their watches repaired. Angelo had a generous and charitable nature. He donated eleven acres of prime land to the Branford Land Trust and was a member of his Neighborhood Watch. Angelo loved animals and adopted many rescue dogs. He is survived by a brother Frank (Rita) DeLeo of Woodbridge, a sister Mary (Eugene) Shine of New Jersey, his nephew John (Katie) DeLeo and great nephews Jack and Vincent, his nieces Michele Shine and Rose Shine (Ron Bettens) and great nephew Nicholas Bettens. Calling hours will be held Friday from 8:30 - 10 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Woodbridge. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
