Andrew A. "Andy" Cangiano, 81, of 139 South End Rd., East Haven, died at his home, Jan. 9, 2010. He was the husband of Marie DeLandra Cangiano. Andy was born in New Haven, Nov. 16, 1928, the son of the late Anthony and Sue Esposito Cangiano and was employed at the Regional Water Authority for 42 years prior to retiring. He was a private pilot enjoying many years of flying in his Moorey Aircraft and was a past president of CAPA- New Haven at Tweed New Haven Airport. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a past commander of the Harry R. Bartlett, American Legion, Post 89. Beside his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas ( Sue ) Scalia of Watertown, a son, Anthony ( Debbie ) Cangiano of East Haven, a sister Mrs. Anthony ( Rose ) Vigliotti of East Haven, brothers, Thomas Cangiano and Anthony ( Junior) ( Elizabeth ) Cangiano, all of New Haven, grandfather of Nicholas R. Scalia, Anthony A. Cangiano, Jr. and Stephanie M. Cangiano. Funeral Tuesday from the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, l022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at St. Clare's Church at a time to be announced. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9 to 10:15 A.M.
