Aline Davis Burnley has gone home to be with her beloved "Robbie" and her daughter, Joy.  The widow of the late Robert Leonard Burnley, was 88 years old.  Aline was born on June 4 ^th , 1933 in Pittsfield , Ma.  She and her brother, the late Allen Davis, grew up in Pittsfield as members of the large Robinson family, with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Her mother, Beatrice Lee Robinson, was one of 7 children to her grandmother, "Nana" Rose Robinson. In 1954, Aline met Robert Burnley in Cambridge Mass.  After a two year courtship, they married in 1956 and were together for 63 years.  Their daughter, Joy Ann, was born August 23, 1969.  Joy was born with severe down syndrome but due to the love and dedication of both parents, lived to the age of 45, passing away in March, 2014. Aline was a gifted craftsperson and baker.  She crocheted, knit and sold many of her creations long before "Etsy" was conceived!  Her love of baking enabled her to gift friends and associates with baked goods, for many years. She donated cookies, cakes and pies to local hospitals, churches and charities. While baking and crafting were a few of Aline's favorite past times her greatest joy came from cheering on "her" UCONN girls basketball team. Aline leaves her godson and caretaker, Thaddeus A. Reddish and his wife, Angela, her goddaughter, Myra Reddish Randall, niece Janice Winch, nephew Allen Anthony Davis and numerous cousins and friends. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service WEDNESDAY October 13th at 11 A.M. in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
