Alfred "Al" Locascio 80 of West Haven died March 21st at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Judith Leone. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of the late Alfonso & Anna Berrafato Locascio. An Army veteran, Al worked as a safety engineer for Metro-North Railroad for many years. He was involved in West Haven politics, enjoyed cooking & gardening, and spent time tutoring young people preparing for the S.A.T test. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Lauren (Greg) Trotta of Trumbull and Justine Erickson of Fairfield, a sister Valerie Locascio of Florida, a Stepson Edward Leone of Clinton, and grandchildren Grace & Matthew. He was predeceased by a brother James Locascio. Calling hours will be held Monday March 30th from 9:00 - 10:30 am in the Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden, followed by a Memorial service at 10:30 am in the same location. Burial with full military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
