Alfred Allen, 74, of Hamden, formerly of Branford, died May 23rd at the Whitney Rehabilitation Care Center after a brief illness. He was born in New Haven, December 4, 1948, son of the late Harold & Margaret Beland Allen. Alfred was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion & V.F.W. He enjoyed playing cards and attending Bingo. He is survived by a son Alfred Allen Jr. of Florida, a daughter Barbara (Shawn) Goodspeed of East Hampton, a brother Jack (Donna) Allen of Hamden, a nephew C.J. of Hamden, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Sandra Massey. All services will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
