Adele (Bernardoni) Mirando, 92, of Hamden, died February 25, 2022 at home surrounded by her devoted family.
Adele was born in New Haven, July 10, 1929, the daughter of the late Valentino and Rina (Colombini) Bernardoni. She retired from the New Haven Savings Bank after over 40 years as assistant Vice President in charge of the Mortgage Service Dept. She then worked for Simeone and Simeone as office manager. A longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church, she was a member of the Choir. She also sang with the Hamden Festival Chorus and the Special Olympics 1,000 Voice Choir. She was a member of the New Haven Council of Catholic Women and the Hamden Duckpin Bowling League. Adele loved spending time with her beloved family, babysitting, playing pinochle, Sudoku, bowling and lunches with old friends, vacations at Banner Lodge and Poland Springs, ME., and long weekends at her niece Angela's home.
She is survived by her children Lynn Mirando, Joan Mirando and Mark (Penthy) Mirando all of Hamden and Carl (Monica) Mirando of Cheshire; a brother Valentino Bernardoni of Farmington; 4 grandchildren Matthew, Tyler, Kevin and Peter; and many nieces; and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Victor and Olga Bernardoni and Isabel Crescenzi.
Funeral Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. from The Peter H. Torello & Son Funeral Home, 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at 11 o'clock at Blessed Sacrament Church (CBOL). Friends may call Wednesday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Interment in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. The family would like to thank all the aides and nurses from the VNA and Hospice.
